The Grand Opening of the Coquitlam City Center Library on November 24^th, 2012 was a great success.  As soon as the doors opened, the public flooded the library to use its new facilities which range from comfortable couches beside a gas fireplace, providing a family room like feeling, for adult reading to a full on children’s gaming room with massive TV’s and multiple gaming consuls.  This library has something for everyone.  We are excited that the Coquitlam community will be able to use this state of the art facility for years to come.  Congratulations to the City of Coquitlam and the entire project team on a successful project.

Congratulation to the District of Summerland for being a recipient of the Conservation Excellence Award for their recently completed Summerland RCMP Facility.  We are proud to be the Construction Managers on this project.

Unitech is proud to announce the award of the Construction and Project Management contract for a 10 and 14 storey residential and commercial development, above 1 and 2 levels of underground parking, at 1075 Pandora Avenue in Victoria, BC.

Congratulations to everyone involved in getting Abbotsford Senior Secondary open for the students by the start of the 2012/2013 school year.  There was enormous push this summer to get the new school complete and the old school demolished before class was in session, and everyone involved had to pitch in to make sure the 1,100 students eagerly awaiting their new school and the new school year had a school to go to.  This school looks outstanding.  Great job everyone!

Congratulations to Chris Arthur for being selected as one of the two winners of the 2012 Gold Seal Scholarship program from the Independent Contractors and Business Association of British Columbia.  Chris is able to start taking course towards his Gold Seal certification starting this September and will be at the ICBA annual meeting in October to accept his award.  The Gold Seal Program is a great way for carpenters to hone their construction skills to a higher level and become more familiar with the complete Construction Management process from the initial design stage to warranty completion.  Congratulations Chris.  We hope you take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

We are proud to announce that we have recently been awarded the Construction Management Contract for the building of the Kitsumkalum Health Centre located in Terrace, BC.  This project is a 411 m2 single storey wood framed building that includes significant heavy timber components throughout.  Site development includes parking, underground services, landscaping and the installation of a geo-exchange field.  We are excited to be collaborating with the Kitsumkalum First Nations Band and Lubor Trubka Associates Architects on this project and will be tendering sub trades soon.
