Integrated Project Delivery

IPDElisa Brandts, President of PBK Architects, and Rick Boates, President of Unitech Construction Management recently teamed up to present on the the newest form of Construction Procurement, Integrated Project Delivery, to the Professional Services Management Association of Vancouver at a luncheon seminar June 27th at the Sutton Place Hotel.  The Integrated Project Delivery Method, or IPD for short, brings a collaborative alliance of professionals, systems, business structures and practices that harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to optimize project results, increase value to the owner, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency through all phases of design, fabrication, and construction.  To learn more about the IPD procurement method and how it compares to other construction procurement choices please download the presentation by clicking on the following link. Newly Awarded Projects

Unitech is proud to announce the award of three new projects over the past few weeks including the following:

North Delta Recreation Centre, The Corporation of Delta, Delta BC

Construction Management for the 27,000 sq ft expansion to the North Delta Recreation Centre to add a new full sized gymnasium / assembly space with a multi functional stage, new meeting and social gathering spaces, a 3,500 sq ft fitness centre, a new Cafe, area for art sales and a 3,250 sq ft North Delta Municipal Business Centre with a back up data room. The project also includes the relocation of the outdoor pool change rooms, staff facilities and mechanical room to become a part of the main building as well as extensive renovations and site redevelopment to the current facility all built to a LEED Silver standard.

Babine School Addition, School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes), Granisle, BC

Construction Management for the select demolition of sections of the old school to be replaced with prefabricated modular facilities.  Remaining portions of the old school will be renovated including the main entrance and administration area, the library and staff room and the gymnasium ancillary space.  Electrical, Mechanical and Exterior Envelope upgrades will be included in the project as well.

Construction Management for a quality 2 ½ floor retail and commercial building above a half level of at grade parking on the site at 435 Seventh Street in New Westminster, BC.
